The Pablo Ruiz Picasso international airport, 9 km from the city center, allows you to get from Malaga to major European cities in an average of 2 to 3 hours.
If you fly to Malaga, you will arrive at Malaga-Costa del Sol Airport, which is more popularly known as Pablo Picasso Airport. It is located very close to the city centre, just 8 kilometres away, so there are many options for getting there.
1. By train.
2. By bus.
3. By taxi.
By train
You have to take the RENFE suburban train, line C1, located just in front of the arrivals terminal.
In 10 minutes, for 2.05€, you will arrive at María Zambrano train station, which is connected to other transport.
The next stop, is Alameda, and for €2.70, will take you right into the historic centre.

By bus:
The Airport Express Line has a wide range of stops to facilitate bus transfers to Malaga Airport, interconnecting with the EMT bus network, the AVE station or the rest of the province thanks to the bus station stop.
You can take the line A at the arrivals terminal. It has a frequency of 30-45 minutes and it arrives to the centre in 25 minutes.
The ticket for trips on this line can be obtained:
On the bus itself, paying the amount in cash.
Buying the ticket at the check-point located at the exit of the arrivals terminal of the Airport .
On the bus itself, paying the amount with VISA or MASTERCARD
The cost of the ticket is 4€, and its last stop is Paseo del Parque.
By taxi
The taxi stop is located just in front of the arrivals terminal.
The taxi ride to the city centre can cost approximately 25 - 30 €, and it takes about 20 minutes.
With the high-speed trains, you can arrive to Malaga from the spanish main cities. For example:
- From Seville, it takes 2 hours.
- From Madrid, it takes 2 hours and a half.
If you want to arrive to Malaga by train from another European city, first, you will have to go to Madrid or Barcelona. The trains arrive at Maria Zambrano station, it's 10 minute away from the city centre.
To get to the city centre you have several options:
- By underground, you'll take the L1, it takes 11 minutes and the ticket costs 1,40 €.
- By bus, you'll take the 20 or C2, it takes 15 minutes and the ticket costs 1,35 €.
- By taxi. You will find the taxis' stop on the station forecourt. This taxi ride costs around 6 €.
